Will HTML5 replace Adobe Flash?

Bleeding edge browsers like Chrome or Safari already support HTML5. Firefox does also support the upcoming web standart.

HTML5 will finally support streaming Video, Audio and better manipulation of websites through an updated DOM, which can be seen as the achilles heel of the web. JavaScript will become multi-threaded with the help of the so called web worker API. Geolocation, total backwards compatibility and freedom to use xhtml are other features of the new standard. Opera Software and the WHATWG initially invented HTML5 in spite of efforts of the W3C to create XHTML2 which would have broken compatibility with the web as mankind knows it.

Uber-Nerd and Apple CEO Steve Jobbs is boldly stating Flash will be replaced by HTML5. This blatant statement could be more than sheer self-marketing since the man has also predicted the end of the Floppy Disk which indeed is extinct.
